People sitting “fat, dumb, and happy” in front of the television are not out storming the Capitol. We may be fat, we may be dumb, but if we’re not happy – we’re a ticking timebomb. When we’re struggling to make ends meet, as many of us are, we’re not happy.
We need a return of prosperity such as was enjoyed for the few decades following World War II. Wages need to meet or exceed the cost of living. Right now, for many, they don’t.
